Connect to God
Jesus said that the first and greatest commandment is, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matt. 22:37). The gospel tells us of God’s love for us. The gospel is the good news of how sinful people like us can connect to God by His mercy and grace. Jesus lived the life of perfect righteousness that we could never have lived. He died the death that we deserved on the cross. He rose to life in victory over the grave. He ascended into heaven and reigns as the Lord of all. The gospel teaches us to repent of our sins and to place our faith in Jesus alone for salvation. OBBC exists to connect people to God by proclaiming this good news.
We believe that the gospel is not something we put on the shelf once we become Christians. The gospel is the truth in which we stand. As Jerry Bridges once put it, as a Christian…”your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God’s grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God’s grace.”
The primary way we intentionally seek to connect with God on a weekly basis is through our corporate worship service. No matter where you are in your journey of faith, we invite you to join us in connecting with God in this significant way. Visit us this Sunday.
